So you're going to Nice and
you will stay at our apartment for a while. Welcome to the Port!
.
.
On the left side of the Port
you will some good restaurants and pubs, like Ma Nolans.
.
When you're in for a laugh and
not easily offended we advise you to visit Kookaburra's.
.
When you leave the building,
go left, take the second street on your left and you're in Rue Cassini.
Besides this shop (open 7 days
a week) you will find two supermarkets here (Co-op and ED).
Another supermarket is on Place
Garibaldi (Monoprix).
.
Also in Rue Cassini: Fjord,
a restaurant and shop that is specialized in Scandinavian food.
.
This shop, in Rue Catherine
Ségurane, has all kinds of food from Russia, Armenia, Lebanon, Greece
and Italy.
.
There are plenty of restaurants
just around the corner, like this Japanese place.
.
On the Place Ile de Beauté,
overlooking the Port, you will also find nice places to eat or drink.
.
If the sun is too hot for you,
you will enjoy the gentle breeze in the arcades.
.
Nice pub with a terrace in Rue
François Guizol.
.
Also in Rue François Guizol,
on the corner of Place du Pin, Thy Jeff's Café.
Very nice and friendly owners.
.
Restaurant Genève, in Rue Cassini.
.
Café restaurant "Le Sully",
on Place Garibaldi. The food is reasonable and they serve
a great pint of German lager.
.
Place Garibaldi
.
Place Garibaldi, with a view
of the Museum of Modern Arts
.
Gare Routière (Central Bus
Station) on Boulevard Jean Jaurès
.
On the corner of Place Garibaldi,
on the Avenue Jean Jaurès, you will find many nice places,
like Daniele & Marcel's.
We're already in Vieux Nice.
.
J. Multari is one of the best
bakers in Nice. They also serve nice pastry and coffee.
.
Brasserie La Petite Provence,
on Place St. François. Good for lunch.
(Don't take the curry.)
.
Nice little
streets between the Old Port Lympia and Vieux Nice.
.
The colours
of the buildings are just wonderful.
.
More exotic restaurants in Rue
St. François, like Saf Saf and Pamir.
.
We're still in Rue St. François.
Plenty of local restaurants and you can try the local snack: socca!
.
Don't get misguided. This so-called
"brown Amsterdam pub" was owned by Dutch people
more than twenty years ago.
Ever since it is owned by French people.
Nobody hear speaks Dutch. If
you want to meet nice Dutch people, visit Jazz Bar Shapko,
in Rue Rossetti.
.
Rue Rossetti
.
There's a couple of restaurants
on Place Rossetti.
.
We recommend Le (Petit) Romarin,
next to the Cathedral.
.
Looking back in Rue Rossetti
you'll see the Chateau. Right behind it is the Port area.
Quite a climb and closed after
7 pm.
.
Restaurant Acchiardo in Rue
Droite. Famous for their food.
You'll have to sit at long tables
though.
.
Hotspot
Internet Café - owned by our good friend Omar
.
Rue Préfecture. So many bars
and restaurants.
.
Enjoy a nice drink in the Distilleries
Ideales.
.
Or buy an excellent bottle of
wine at Caprioglio's.
.
Stuzzico - Good, original Italian
food
.
La Banane de Guadaloupe - Great
quality sandwiches and salads
.
Manao, for fantastic juices
and smoothies
.
Lebanese restaurant Di Yar,
next to Lou Pastrouil
.
Our favorite hangout for coffee
(or tea) during the day: Lou Pastrouil, on Place Palais de la Justice.
.
Bar de la Dégustation, next
to Lou Pastrouil, probably serves the cheapest beers in Vieux Nice.
